For the first time in over two years, masks are no longer required on US airlines. In a 59-page lawsuit ruling, U.S. District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle in Tampa said the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention overstepped its authority in issuing the original health order on which the TSA directive was based. 

Although there is no longer a federal mandate requiring mask wearing, individual forms of transportation still have the option to require masks on their transportation.

At this point most, if not all, major airports have dropped the requirement of wearing masks in the terminals, but still strongly recommend that passengers voluntarily wear them.

It has also been announced that as of Tuesday, April 19, 2022, Uber will no longer require passengers and/or drivers to don a mask… It is unclear if a driver could still require a passenger to wear a mask inside their vehicle.

As of the time of this post, Universal has not released any comments on how or if this affects their current mask policy.
